Do you think the future chain of commands will use RallyPoint to check you out prior to assignment?

I can see it happening eventually down the line. Now its just getting everyone on board to create their accounts so the next chain of command can see who you are and what you have done in the past.

They should, this is supposed to be a professional organization. You should present your professional face.

I don't see why not. If a better system of vetting individuals training/experience were to be implemented.

SFC Day, I'm actually hoping to make a good impression here. I'm about to PCS to Ft. Carson, and I'm carrying a little bit of baggage. I'm hoping my future CoC sees that I realize I put myself in the position I'm in, and actually have a chance to fix it. And if the situation can't be fixed, then at least I can leave the military with grace.

By allowing any potential leadership to see how I think. I have a very slim chance of actually saving my military career, and I'm looking to boost that chance any little bit. I want future leadership to know that it eats at me having failed an APFT for any reason, and that I know what I need to do to fix that, and a couple other loose ends I can't tie up before leaving Monterey.

SPC, there is nothing covert about what I'm trying to do. I screwed up pretty bad, and I've been trying to make up for it since. I've also been updating information on my profile as I've been able to verify it. I try to be tactful on this site, realizing I'm conversing with a lot of sr leadership, but I'm pretty blunt about how I think and feel about things. Any leader on here who really pays attention will know in about 2 or 3 days of actually meeting me if I'm disingenuous or sincere.

I reenlisted for 35P while I was in Iraq. Shortly after, my battalion transferred to Afghanistan. After Afghanistan, my unit redeployed to Ft. Carson. I inprocessed, outprocessed, and PCSed to Presidio of Monterey for language school. I started Pashto about 64 days from redeployment. I had significant physical and emotional problems. I was placed on two med holds while I was here, and on my second med hold, medications were changed around. Over a period of 6-8 weeks, I started sleeping less and less, and didn't tell anyone. To emphasize the point, one of the other soldiers I worked with has a Masters in Psychology and clinical experience, and I had no reason to not trust her advice and judgment. I reached the point I was only sleeping 2-4 hours a night. When I finally went into a manic state, I started missing appointments, breaking medical profile and lying to NCOs about it. I was entirely paranoid about my leadership. A short synopsis doesn't convey the full situation, but suffice it to say that I had plenty of opportunity to inform someone something wasn't right, and the medications can't carry full blame. I am also responsible for my attitude earlier in my career, when I accepted a 200 PT score, and rarely did anything more than just sustain that. There are a lot of things I should have done differently over the last 8 years, and I possibly would have been an E6P by now. Instead, I'm facing my retention control point, and one possible chance for rescuing my career.

I'm not sure what you can get out of here that you can't get from the S1

The S-1 cannot tell you what any given Soldier thinks about any given subject or topic. In most cases, the S-1 cannot put a face to a name before that person signs into the unit.

SPC P K:

It depends on how much information any given command team wants to have on an incoming Soldier. If they want to find out about a new Soldier, the potential is available.

Having worked in a BN S-1, I can tell you that we did NOT have the time to research or otherwise check out every new inbound Soldier. Our BN command team also would not have asked us to do so. Yes, every now and again we would be asked to pull up information about a single NCO, but we were not expected to do an informal background check on them.

SSG Maravi, I would point to the content of people's posts. A critical reader can learn a lot from someone just from what they post on a forum such as this.
