I have to say I agreed with a lot of the things he had to say. I also know (and like) that he is against Common Core and against abortion.

Nice comment, I appreciate the in depth analysis of his platform and what would and wouldn't be possible under a Paul Presidency.

I'm not the one leaving thumbs downs and posting asinine comments.

If you have something to critique or debate by all means.

I think he's one of the few Republicans that actually supports conservative values. For that I would vote for him. Too many of the candidates the GOP has presented in the last decade are RINOs or a simply a Democrat-lite option.

I agree with some things he has said and disagree with others. Will have to see what the other choices are.

Anyone would be better, in my opinion, than Hillary Clinton.

He definitely strikes a chord with me. I liked his speech and what he had to say. He's more willing to compromise and closer to a moderate libertarian than his Dad who I also like but disagree with on some issues. I don't know if Rand can get enough of the GOP support but he has my vote.

The GOP favors the establishment. Rand might steer the conversation, but he's not going to win the Republican nomination.

SGT Richard Blue you do have a point. It would be a serious uphill battle for him to achieve the party nomination. I will still vote for him in the primaries unless a better candidate comes forward. I don't like any of the party favorites so probably not going to change my vote. As for the presidential election next year, who knows...

SGT Richard Blue Good point. The GOP tends to stick to the establishment and the money tends to be spent on candidates further to the Right. The fracturing of the party between Libertarian leaning Paul, Tea Party/Religions Right Cruz and any number of establishment candidates with Jeb Bush being the front runner will likely spell a long expensive primary for the GOP and better chances for the Democrats in the General Election.

PO2 William Allen Crowder, could you provide a source for your statement. I have attempted to locate where Rand said Veteran's benefits are welfare. I have found several things stating his intentions regarding welfare and other social programs, however nothing in regards to him believing our benefits are equivalent to welfare programs. I would greatly appreciate a source. Thank you.

I believe America can work and Democracy can work. But I also believe it will take several people that can understand that,
"Hey I want to balance the budget and get out of debt. Maybe we should stop spending money..." I mean I am all for cancer research for polar bears in the Florida swamp but let's just cut back on spending for a few months and catch up.
OR
"hey I know this country was founded by immigrants but they wanted to work." Welfare should be for none drug using, citizens, not fair…why?
OR
"hey I know middle class is a great victim but paying someone 60000 and they only take home 35000 maybe we should get our money form more wealth instead of them. Because they get paid 100000 and take home 85000."
OR
"maybe I should make sure universal health care is possible before I force everyone to use it."
OR
"wonder how many people can't make a living because they get paid so little."
OR
"Do we have a program in place to provide electricity to a man with 7 kids who needs it so he can provide for them? Instead of him using a generator and killing them all."

Good. I hope he gets the nomination. That might actually earn the R party one of my votes.

Before everyone gets too in depth of his changes, understand what he actually could change.

Anything related to VA benefits would never be touched without strong support from Congress. Ya'lls retirement and benefits are safe.

Second Rand is not his father, yes he has Libertarian leanings but he knows political games better than Ron ever could. He will not pull out all troops across the globe (which itself is not isolationism) however he would be very cautious of war and intervention which is sorely needed imo.

ISIS will play a huge part over the next 4 years and from everyone I've heard from Rand is the only one I've heard who actually sounds sane.

Certainly not Cruz, Bush or any Democrat that I've heard from.
