As stated before, I was a young soldier who Honorably did my 4-year initial contract and discharged to go to school and travel and see the world. Years later, I fell onto hard times and luckily was able to train and went through so many hoops and loops to return to the US Army. I want to stay in as long as I can this time around, but am hearing rumors and thoughts I do not know much about.

First, If I am to reenlisted, will I be able to get the job I truly wanted, and possibly in the realm of bonuses, or am I stuck as needs of the Army due to my Prior-Service handled.

My BASD/DIEMS date is still my original entry date, and I have heard rumors that if I cannot get this fixed by the time I goto BLC (or received my SGT since it is automatic) I would be barred from reenlisted due to being an SPC for 8+ years (Not accurate, again paperwork).

What can I do to reassure everything works out in a way that I can stay in, be able to take care of my military career and family, and also not be stuck doing something I am not enjoying in a place I was not hoping for?

I am able to answer more specific questions below if needed

Good luck on your process my brother and keep your head up. Going back in is something that is very tempting! I know this is about how to get back in but you also have all the tools to make it while your out. Keep grinding no matter what you decide or what the outcome is your going to be able to make it with or without the army. Not saying anything bad about the army I just know if I can make it you can to my guy.

Talk to a recruiter. You may get your dream job if there are shortages in that MOS.

I am in the process of talking to one now, but due to being in my first year, COVID, and her schedule, it is a slow process, I wanted to use RallyPoint in order to know more on the subject chief in order to have a more throughout conversation with her.

Adjusted Basic Pay Entry Date will keep you off the exit list but you may have to 'educate' some folks on what that means in your situation. I know a person (not me) that beat a QMP board because as a 1990s SSG with 19 years he was flagged for reenlistment. He did have to get JAG involved since that was the only reason given by the board. He was an excellent soldier.

Ironically, I am going to the STM board in September against alot of other SPC and my ASUs are stacked against their 2 to 3 awards...so I will feel a bit weird about that.

As of the BPED issue, I have let alot of people know, but as I been seeing some people just glance at paperwork and make their decision without giving it a second thought..Why I am here now to get more educated so I can explain it better.

In process of doing so SGM, but as we know COVID, and this being my first year, retention is hard to come by lol. while I wait I wanted to come here and see if any prior 79Series or educated leaders could inform me on their times when this was a issue for them or a solider in the unit.

Your BASD should be fixed at the MEPS. Your BASD is a calculation of your Active service. If you served 4 years your new BASD will 4 years earlier than the day you swear in. Your DIEMS will stay the same always. No paperwork error will have you as an 8 year E4, when the MEPS does mess up they simply change your BASD to the date you reentered, you’re in no danger of hitting RCP or being barred. You will immediately get barred if you didn’t complete your SSD on your prior enlistment once your BASD is correct.
SGT is not automatic, not sure where you heard that.

There are very slim cases where SGT can be given regardless of points however there is certain criteria.
When I tried to reclass I had a memo from HRC stating upon graduation I would pin SGT the 1st day of the following month regardless of points. However I don't think this will be the case for him. I have since then been promoted and had the reclass orders deleted.

But I would not consider that "automatic".

SGT David Shanley Jr. what you’re referring to is called SMAPP. A few MOSs begin at higher levels like 25E or 35L, so upon completion of training you get to pin the higher rank.

So from what I gather, you are wanting to re-enlist and have been out for how long? Who are you hearing rumors from? The jobs that are open will depend on what HRC has available. Get with recruiter and see. If you have not signed anything make sure that when you do its what you think you'll like to do. Also how is receiving SGT automatic? They are allowing you to come back in with (P) status?
