Received RC message, wife admitted to VA hospital for PTSD; can I be attached to unit in FLW until Compassionate reassignment is processed?

Got this from FLW G1 POC:
Pete,
The best thing the Soldier can do is go on emergency leave and then apply
for a compassionate reassignment from here. Once he is at FLW, I personally
get him with all of the right people.
