I am reclassing to a 31e and my A.I.T is July 15th 2016. I was curious what are the "current" duty stations for a 31E. I am also wondering what to expect reclassing to this M.O.S?

You could go to the following locations (in order of probability): Ft Leavenworth either 40th MP BN (USDB), 705th MP BN (JRCF), Ft Lewis, Korea, Germany, Miramar NAS, Pearl Harbor NAS, or any of the Naval/Joint Base Stations on the East coast that have brigs. You shouldn't be sent to Cuba as a brand new reclass on individual orders, but don't count it out, they'll place people where they need them. Hope this helps. As far as what you would look forward to, long hours, long work weeks, shift work, rotating shifts, and training directed by the Army and the American Corrections Association, so you'll pull several 12-14 hour days after PT, work and training. Deployments are usually voluntary and are to Cuba as an Unit.

You also can go to Cuba as a fresh reclass. In fact I had 4 re classes in my AIT class 3 sgt and one SPC all 4 went to Cuba and 2 others from my class went as well they sent another 2 to Korea and a majority went to Leavenworth I was one of 6 that went to lewis.

SPC Sewell,
I was curious what you are reclassing from? I was a 31B on active duty and now in the NG after a break in service and am looking at ways to go back active again and looking at possibly gong 31E.

I am currently a 92A ( Automated Logistical Specialist/Warehouse clerk). I'm not sure of the process of going NG to active. I would talk to your retention NCO to see what options you have available to you. For me, I was with in my reenlistment window back in June of 15 and it just so happen there was a class seat available for that MOS. Another reason why I was able to reclass to this MOS is because my current MOS is overstrength so they were allowing people to reclass. Like I said the best way to find out is talk to your retention NCO. He/She will be able to help you in your pursuit of becoming a 31E. Good luck to you!!

I'm a current 31E and fresh out of AIT I been at FT Lewis now for just over 2 months so my experience isn't stellar but I can tell you what to expect as far as duty stations. Right now it's only Ft Lewis or more then likely ft Leavenworth only other Korea, Germany and of course Cuba. If you go to Leavenworth which is a 90 percent chance you'll be on 12 hr shifts (they are on permanent 12s right now for at least a year) and also expect go to Cuba at some point.

It's extremely easy, some of it with be fun like riot control and cell extraction but don't expect too much. As an insert you'll have short days youll be released aound or before 1500 and you'll have weekends off you'll only come in like once or twice on weekends. Most of AIT will be death by PowerPoint though.FTX is just running the mock prison for 4 days.

SPC (Join to see) - Are you still @ Lewis? I currently live like 30 mins from JBLM! What is a day like for you there as a 31E?
If you are going to reclass in the winter, MO is going to be cold. Reclass is a bit more loose than initial entry training. I reclassed as a 31b, but I'd assume that places like Cuba may be in your future. There are also locations in Germany, lady I knew. Enjoy and be safe. Welcome to the MP corps.

Once you are a SSG and have spent some time behind the walls of a correctional facility or detention facility, you could always be the DETOPS subject matter expert on a Brigade Combat Team Staff in its protection cell. So you could potentially be stationed at the duty stations with BCTs and Divisions.

Yeah they shut that RCF down a while back I think. It was empty last time I was at Knox.

State side duty stations most likely are JBLM in Tacoma, Washington really good base so much do. Or Leavenworth, KS (never been)
When people say about all other places like Pearl Harbor or California those chances are slim to none and you have to be a high speed SGT or SSG and in those place you work as an army liaison for the navy brig

Not trying to be a smartass, but I would have done my research first before reclassing to a new MOS

I did do research on it however i was wanting someone who is currently a 31E to explain there experience and as far as the duty stations, the options my retention nco gave me were out of of date. For example i asked for Fort Knox since it was one of "options" but from who I've talked to they shut that facility down. So thats why i wanting to get a more current update.
