Will old speeding tickets and having my license suspended a few times impact my ability to reclassify to 35N or 17C?

So long story short... I'm currently E-4/SPC and want to reclass from being a rigger (92R) to either 35N or 17C. My current GT/ST score is 106/97 but I start BSEP next month, gonna try to raise it as high as possible but really my main concern is when I was younger and dumber I used to get a bunch of speeding tickets and had my license suspended a few times. I was originally supposed to come in as a 25B but couldn't get the security clearance at MEPS because of all my old tickets. Being that all those old traffic violations are over 5+ years old I wanted to get some insight from somebody in the army IT field on if they think I would be cleared to change my MOS now? I've been told I'm a great soldier and have been waivered to E-3 and E-4 early and want to get into that field to do what I truly love. If anybody has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it

17C is an application MOS. If you don't already have IT experience, you are not competitive to be selected for it. I'm not saying don't put in your packet and try, I'm just saying that the other people in school for computer science who have experience coding are going to get selected before you.
As for 35N, or any CMF35 job other than 35L, you need to get your clearance first. Your Career Counselor isn't authorized to request a class seat for you until you have a TS clearance.
The issue you experienced at MEPS isn't that you couldn't get a clearance, it's that you had flags in your background. That means you couldn't be granted an clearance until you were investigated, so you were not eligible for an interim clearance. Recruiting doesn't want to hold onto a recruit for a year while they wait for a background check to come back, so unless you are squeeky clean, you're not getting a job at MEPS that requires a clearance. Clearances usually take 6-9 months, so if you're in your reenlistment window now, you'll need to extend a year and then come back once your investigation is complete. If you're not in your reenlistment window when you're requesting this 99% chance you won't be eligible to request it, or it won't be approved.

You’d be amazed at the backgrounds of some people with ts/sci clearance.
Just be honest. They care more about someone lying about their background than the actual background itself.

If you fully disclose that you had your license suspended in the past I would be surprised if it kept you from getting a clearance.
