So shortly after my ETS date of February 11th, 2022, I was contacted by a reserve component career counselor to give me guidance on starting the in-process of my new reserve unit. My ETS from active duty has always been February 11th, 2022 but he told me in an email that my ETS date was updated to June 20th, 2022 according to RMS. I am very curious as to why though. He didn’t explain why he just continued to give me a POC to my new reserve unit. I’ve not gotten into any trouble or been notified of anything or any changes to this, so this is odd to me. I already have my DD-214 as well. Has this ever happened to anyone? Or does anyone know why it was changed to a future date even after I’ve been discharged from active duty?

The RMS is just mistaken. It does happen that people sometimes get the ETS date when MEPS calculates their enlistment wrong. But that is caught when you turn in your ETS packet.

If you were still on AD, you would still be receiving a full paycheck. Since you are not getting paid, you are not on AD.

When you arrive to the unit contact the Unit Career Counselor, give him a copy of your last AD contract and any extensions, and they can verify your AD ETS if needed. However, all you really need is your 214 which shows your separation date. As far as ETS source documents go, that is the gold standard

Thank you SFC Boyd. I was thinking the same. I do have all that readily available. Now I’m just waiting on the HR NCO to reach out to me like they said they would but never did. I recently sent them an email to follow up. Hopefully it doesn’t become an unnecessary hassle getting in contact further.
