Resume advice: representing your accomplishments in bullet points
Dear Veterans, please be sure to quantify your resume with accomplishments that describe key factors, put numbers that reference a basis as opposed to bragging in 3 or 4 paragraphs. Be specific on what the challenge was, and the result/solution you brought to the table. To often we see resumes that are pure fluff, multiple job descriptions that have little meaning. Tell your story, however keep it to 2 pages as a readers digest version. If you need help in this area, please let me know. In closing, you must have several resumes to attack a particular position you are seeking. Companies want to hire you, please help them with a solid resume.

Keep in mind the resume is a working document. The other thing there is no such thing as perfect resume. The most important real estate on a resume if the first half of the 1st page. As a recruiter it takes me a quick 30-45 second scan of a resume to determine some key word and phrase. Quantify, Quantify, Quantify. How was the organization when you started what happen once you touched it....was there an improvement in process, money saved.
I see a lot of resumes that are written like an evaluation describing the role that did verses the deliverables. I also see servicemember trying to squeeze everything that they have done throughout your time in service.
Consider it like dating give enough information to piqué interest and save some stuff for the actual date ie...the interview.
Don't get caught up in the length because if you ask ten you will get different responses.

I'm really curious as to why this forum hasn't received much attention. I'd love to have my resume reviewed if anyone with experienced eyes would be willing to offer any advice. From what I've seen and heard, the more who review one, the more well-rounded it becomes, as many employers look more into different things.

Without a doubt, there are truly some great resources available to active and Reserve component personnel and veterans. Of course, if folks don't know that they're out there, members and their families couldn't possibly benefit from some of these amazing offers and services. So, the idea here is to share those helpful tidbits of information, tips, links, lessons learned, processes, resources, wisdom and/or POCs to help members find the...
