Best resource that i've found in Texas is the Texas Veterans Commission. They help with education, employment, claims, and help starting a business. You can go into any of the Texas Workforce employment offices, and they have a TVC Employment Rep there to assist.

Also if you are looking to buy land, check out the Texas Veterans Land Board. They do land loans, home loans, home improvement loans, and oversee the Texas State Veterans Home and Texas State Veterans Cemeteries.
