SFC Peter Cortese , Army, High Point, NC, 16 JUN 2014

Patriots,
Once again we have been asked to stand for one that stood for us. SFC Peter Cortese (78) served for 20 years in the US Army, from 1955 to 1975, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service during Vietnam. He passed away on 9 June 2014. There will be a visitation followed by a service on Sunday June 16 to honor SFC Cortese of High Point, NC. We will then escort the family to the Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park where Military Honors will be rendered. The family had a brick placed in his honor but SFC Cortese was unable to visit the memorial and only saw it via pictures. I am working on getting LEO escort from the church to the Carolina Field of Honor.

There have been many RallyPoint members who have sought ways to recognize impactful individual service members and veterans who have passed either in combat or after their military career.

It is not practical to recognize every individual with a separate discussion, but we are happy to host those posts on this central thread.

You are invited to post responses here about individual service members and veterans that you wish to honor.
