I note that you are medically retired and earned a SCWD. I am sure that you earned that and are proud of it. When I served there was no SCWD. We participated in our pre-deployment training and went on about our business of building and construction projects. The new training started in the early 90's and continue today. It is great training but what we did was the basics of the new training and we managed to keep
ourselves protected and involved as we were required to and able to keep from being any more involved than in protection of our troops and continuing with our projects..

Yeah my first murder board was like 8 hours long. The only thing I really dislike about it is that a lot of the information is out-dated. The study information by the commands need updating for equipment and tactics that we currently use, not stuff that has been taken out of the TOA 20 years ago.

Other than that, I really liked it because on FEX you could point others in the right direction and help others acquire their pin. It also made everything flow smoother if you had important responsibility like platoon commander for crew serve or patrol leader/ convoy vehicle commander.

They have updated the program and NRTC books around 2012, and most commands to deviate from scuttle butt have implemented on your final board that the board members can only ask questions pertaining to the PQS criteria, of course each qualifying commands CMDMC is over all in charge of the program and how it is ran. Unfortunelty there are a lot of SCWS warriors out there that do not agree with this, though I see it as a good thing, you had information from Vietnam that was outdated and twisted.
