When I went to my Staff Sergeant board in 2012, I was asked about my EFMB. Did I let anyone set it? I said no because no one else in the platoon had it. I was then told that tradition is hazing.
I understand that there is a reason it's considered that, some people went to far, but me as a soldier should I have a choice in it? I have had few mentors I. My career that have led from the front but those that have, I would have been honored to set my EFMB or my rank. Just looking for thoughts.

What is your take on this subject? What do you consider to be hazing? What is still being done after a promotion, skill school (Abn/AASLT) or reenlistment etc? We all know what 1SG Carpenter did to newly promoted SGT Roach, hitting him in the chest with a wooden mallet and beyond Hazing, in my opinion, it was assault. What are we seeing still going on that you would consider carrying on traditions? <div><br></div><div>*No name dropping or units </div>
