Sharia Law in the US: Hillary's supporters are for it; are you?

SPC Ilya Arkadiev - Relifgious law (Sharia or otherwise) is illegal and unenforceable in the US, period. There are many practices within Sharia that may have permission to be carried out voluntarily in a community, much like Jewish children are legally allowed to drink wine at Passover services in some communities, but under no circumstance can a Sharia court impose a sentence for violating Sharia law ANYWHERE in th United States.

Anyone who says that Dearborn has an exception and gives jurisdiction to Sharia courts is just right-wing fear monger ins, which sadly happens all too much these days. Sorry, but Rush Limbaugh is NOT a news source, nor, sadly, is Fox News.

Here's one of the examples pulled out from wikia that actually got checked before it went crazy:
In June 2009, a family court judge in Hudson County, New Jersey denied a restraining order to a woman who testified that her husband, a Muslim, had forced her to have non-consensual sex. Judge Joseph Charles Jr. said he did not believe the man "had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault" his wife because he was acting in a way that was "consistent with his practices." A state appeals court reversed his decision. Advocates of the ban in the U.S. have cited this case as an example of the need for the ban.

Another example:
In November 2010, voters in Oklahoma voted overwhelmingly to approve a ballot measure to amend the state constitution to ban sharia from state courts.[4][5] The law was then updated to include all foreign or religious laws.[6] The law was challenged by an official of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. In November 2010 a federal judge ruled the law to be unconstitutional and blocked the state from putting it into effect.[7][not in citation given][8] The court found the ban had the potential to do harm to Muslims. The invalidation of a Will and testament using sharia instructions was an example.[9] That ruling and injunction were upheld by the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals on January 10, 2012.
This one got vetoed.


So technically Sharia Law was applied but it was checked.

the muslim way is a severe detriment to our way of life and values/beliefs this country was founded on. There is nothing good the muslim ever contributed to society.

I'm no fan of Islam or any other religion and generally think that religion is the most destructive force we humans have ever invented, having a death toll higher than anything else other than "natural causes". I think the world will be a better place when all religion is relegated to the dust bin of history, but I have no doubt that of the current major religions Islam is the most offensive.

Of course most offensive doesn't give a pass to other religions. Kind of like saying that murder is the most dangerous of crimes doesn't make rape or kidnapping somehow acceptable. All crime is bad, and in my opinion, all religion is destructive.

You do know sharia law isn't the law of Islam but of a sect.
