Should a Company Commander and 1SG, who are perceived to be in a relationship, be investigated?

Sadly perception is not proof, and if the perception is that noticeable then rest assured those above will take notice and take the appropriate course of action. The way i see it you have two courses of action: 1. Complain about it in the command climate survey like a private. 2. Hold your head high, do the right thing at all times even if its hard, and take pride in knowing that at least you and your Soldiers are doing whats expected from them even if their leadership isnt.

Drive on and let the system work it out or let is slide. Either way youre probably concerning yourself with something outside the realm of your control.

In the military I was constantly reminded that perception is the main thing that was looked at by the chain of command. If something turns out to be out of the realm of your control then there is nothing that can be done about it.

Whether or not we agree with AR 600-20, perception carries a lot of weight. Perception may not be truth but all it takes is one person to perceive something and the investigations begin...

That is absolutel correct. Sadly though that "perception" is often one almost always noticed out of spite not concern for good order and discipline. I have seen far too many good officers and NCO's sidelined and stigmatized as the result of slander due soley because Private, Specialist, NCO, Officer what have you, was on the receiving end of some type negative feedback.

Understood but to fuck Soldiers over and be a 1SG male and CPT female of a Company that have people through the Brigade talking about it, I mean it's obvious I wouldn't ruin their career, I just asked the question
