At least for Army AR 608-99 is a little over the top, the spouse can cheat, move kids out of state without consent, apply for welfare by claiming abandonment or absent parent, and much more

I would like to see the military give many of the same benefits to single Soldiers so there is less of an incentive for troops to get married so quickly.

Strong military spouses are hard to come by. I would like to see a morality clause for benefits, though it would be hard to impossible to enforce

Yes, I have seen too many men and women get screwed because there isn't a morality clause! I believe just as it was when you live on base with a spouse she is instructed to behave the same way we did in the Army, Navy, Marines, etc. It may be hard to enforce but throwing our hands in the area and giving up is not what should be done! By the way, military Spouses are not too hard to come by, there are still many good men and women out here, look harder!

Should DOD make a morality clause to the current Family Support Regulations?

Yes . 100% but it would be great to if the soldiers who were cheating would also be heals accountable . It goes both ways .

The regulation is antiquated and truthfully does not represent our current society standards. I quite honestly believe that if the DOD wants to impose a regulation, especially when it come to the above mentioned topics, then DOD should be responsible enough to take charge and help soldiers get divorced and actually implement standards instead of leaving it to "civil court" we have attorneys and judges let's use them. And if this isn't the case, then DOD should bug out and eliminate the regulation altogether.

Good point. Flip side. Is there a case when the spouse shouldn't receive a portion of a service member's retirement? (adultery, etc)

I personally don't think they should be entitled to it, the divorce system in the U.S is broken and VERY biased. But this is just my opinion.
