Should gender be a consideration for guard duty?

Ok here is the situation: I am running a 11B ALC course and we got 5 soldiers attached to us from the finance BN and 2 of them are females. They have to rotate shifts for ammo guard. Since we are about to have the first female in the infantry is it wrong to have 1 female and 1 male do ammo guard.

As you state this is for an ALC course, that means it is governed by TRADOC.
According to TRADOC rules, male-female is an improper battle-buddy team. Heck, when I was in OCS, a male and female sitting on the same piece of furniture was considered "fraternization."
You would do well to check the TRADOC regs regarding pairing males and females for anything.
Or has TRADOC changed that much since 2010?

I know, TRADOC wants a specific plan to keep males and females separated. To the point that if there non seperated by a locked door then you must place a guard. But that refers to students not so much to support personnel

this is something new and needs to be tested, although there are some mos's were this has been going on for some time, my personnal experience primary and secondary mos is that that the females i served with are the best i could ever serve with professional and competent, there will always be something, just use good judgement

No if it is a constant rotation of 1 and 1. I am appalled if that is the question.

This is what's going to happen. At 0730 myself and other instructors will come in and relive them. We will keep the ammo with us until training has ended for the day. At this time the ammo guards will come and relive myself and another instructor. This will continue for 8 days. Only reason I'm saying 1male and 1 female is because I will have 2 females and 3 males to accomplish this rotation

Only problem is both females are below e5 and can not occupy the range do to rank restrictions. There has to be a e5 or above out there

SFC (Join to see) - If you make it 4-2 you can have 8 hour shifts. I have nothing against women doing guard duty.
