I would appreciate any feedback on to the TOG ( The Old Guard ) Musuem at Fort Myer in Virginia. I'm a 91D and wonder what it's like to be a mechanic in The Old Guard? I have the option to go there it don't know if I should take it since I don't want to constantly do ceremonies.

Just because you are assigned there, does not mean you would be working outside your MOS- ceremonial duties are restricted to folks who are invited and pass the tests. The TOG is now a deployable unit and may need a 91D for their equipment.

Many people make it seem like it, that's why I came here to find out what it's like.

As a mechanic you will pretty much do the same job you already do, I was there as an 11B for 5 and a half years and NEVER saw a mechanic do any of our ceremonies.

No problem!, if you feel the desire to do ceremonies you can always try out for the Tomb or some other special duty there at TOG.

I'm coming down with my wife and three kids and the off post housing prices are insane compared to other duty stations.
