Should I bring my car with me to 15W AIT at FT Huachuca?

I am MOS-T. How far are Riley barracks from the school house?

Absolutely!!! Yes! Highly recommended! The school house is about a 20 minute drive from the barracks. You could carpool with others, but you will feel better having your own and not relying on others. Plus you will also have transport to go to all the different locations they will put out for formation. Once the duty day is over and your have your weekends, you can drive into the city or Tucson.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff SFC, you have the take that long road to black tower. About 15 to 20 mikes. If he’s Grey Eagle, then it’s a lot closer.

I just got back about 2 weeks ago and we were still driving out there. It's about 15 to 20 minutes if you go the speed limit or 20+ minutes and about a $200 ticket if you speed and get caught by the MPs who love to camp on that road. They were having us drive to A Co. for all formations which is about 1.5 miles away so you either walk, drive or carpool unless you want to try your luck at calling for a duty van.

Make sure it's in good driving shape , there are some long stretches of open road and not a lot of traffic in some places . Good battery ..check

Couple of bottles of water ..check ..Good tires And I'm not kidding the road heat out there will eat up tires

Definitely bring it specialist it's a near 15 min. drive to the school house

Then yes, definitely bring your car, the school house is about 15 away from main post, and as far as i know right now, MOS-T's are allowed to drive to school. (It wasnt always like that, we had to take the bus with the IET' when i first came through the shadow course.)

Can anyone tell me how PT works. I know the school is kinda weird with having different shifts and since I am MOS-T I didn’t know if it would do it with the iet

Things change constantly depending on who is in charge but typically the MOS-T do their own PT and the AIT kids do their own.

Authorization of your POV should be outlined in your ATTRS description. I believe it says something like, transportation will be provided to the student, but you can bring your POV. I don’t recall seeing anything in my orders about POV authorization. Although, I had to get permission from my prior BN CSM to drive out to Huachuca. Last time I was there, (Jan 2018) school house didn’t care if you drove your POV. It’s definitely better than riding on the bus with initial entry soldiers.

Still waiting on them to post, but I am an MOS-T and was told by the DS that I could live off post if I wanted to, so I am guess that they will.

How do you go about taking your car with you to AIT? I thought you had to be on government transport to AIT

Also I am not a reclass, I did basic with the Army Reserve and got a conditional release to go active duty and I haven’t gone to AIT yet, I was a split op
