I currently have roughly 10 years of service and I'm looking for the next step in my career. What are your thoughts?

Drill is temporary, Warrant is permanent. Pretty simple

Say you get out at 20yrs and live thirty years past retirement, you will be paid in retirement longer than you were active. I loved my days enlisted however I plan to enjoy my O-4 retirement pay a lot more than I enjoyed my enlisted years. Pay is not everything but in retirement it is something to think about.

What do you truly want to gain from career?
Why are you interested in being a DS if you meet the qualifications for Warrant?

I'm 42. I've learned a lot over my career thus far. I've not had the best leadership. I'm trying to decide where I will have more of an impact on soldiers. Making decisions on an officer based avenue or in the dirt. Truthfully, I'm leaning towards Warrant, but wanted to get some feedback incase there was anything I was missing. It's always good to get another eye on the feedback.

SSG (Join to see) I just came of the trail 6 months ago and the most fulfilling and challenging job I've ever had was being a Drill. Your impact has a DS is long lasting career if you take the challenge to train and lead them correctly.

It is career advancing and you will add some additional skills to your tools. I've learned to be more effective in time management, counseling and effective communication. Just to name a few. All those skills can transfer as a warrant.
