Hello all,

Currently I am a reserve PSYOPer in 7th Group. I am also a Junior at the University of Arkansas.

I am just curious as to whether or not I should do OCS or ROTC sense I am already a junior attending college. I have already completed several schools, certifications, as well as deployed in OEF, if that even has any impact on which one I should choose...

I have goals of remaining within the SOF community as a PSYOPer until I commision at which point I would like to attend SFAS.

If all else fails and neither route is the route for me, then I will just graduate and transfer to active duty in order to attend SFAS as a enlisted solider.

If I were you, I would go the ROTC route, 1LT (Join to see), if it's still an option. Question is, though, as a junior already, can you complete the ROTC requirements for commissioning out of college in a year and a half? And I don't know, so that's an honest question, not a rhetorical one.

Just a update, I decided to do ROTC, just about to finish up my first semester. One down, three to go!

What are some tips that helped you get selected especially with such a late start?!

Plan for both. The reason I say that is life can throw a curve ball. I was enlisted and wanted to go ROTC, but I was stop-lossed. Even though that occurred, I just got enough credits to get 90 hours and went OCS. It really just depends what you want to do, but get whatever you can get first (def with the draw down going on).

I'd also seen you listed as 1st Lt in infantry, so I didn't entirely follow your question for that reason, so perhaps you were able to commission, is seen one of the answer listed you as Spc, so I gather that might be changed, I expect, as I'd said...elaborate if you can, major, grades, GPAs, associates, grad school preferences, STEM and non-STEM coursework, wirh actual course titles, is be most interested to hear more, I can suggest other stuff for you, look up USAF A FIT and Naval Postgrad School (NPS), all svcs can submit, for warrants and commissioned, for both, I might be able to suggest other things for you as well...also, so you have any flight interests at all as either pilot or navigator, possibly? Not that you want those, I was just curious, and is seen your fine ROTC in one other answer as well, so if you could possibly elaborate, it's help try to suggest stuff for you, as I'd mentioned, no rusn, whenever you'd want....
