Hey guys, so i ship out in like 28 days to basic training.... I saw that the pentagon is dropping the mask requirement for fully vaccinated personnel. Should i get the vaccine before or can i get it at basic training when i go through reception? i know mask aren't that big of a deal but it would be nice to not have to wear it while at basic training. Your feedback is much appreciated!!

I definitely would. The Army is starting to reduce quarantine times and open privileges for r vaccinated Soldiers. For instance, here if you are vaccinated you can get 24 hours access to the gym.

Odds are, you will get pumped full of every shot in the Army’s arsenal at basic, which will include the COVID vaccine.

They cannot administer the COVID vaccine to anyone until it clears FDA approval and becomes mandatory. Until then it is a choice to take it or not, so not on the list of vaccines administered.

You'd have to do it now with either shot to get both doses done. But it will be offered at reception at basic.
