Looking for some advice, I was told by my 1SG and retention that after my time on the trail I can either go airborne or risk staying armor. I'm at the point where I have to reenlist being a E-6 with almost KD complete in the Armor I would like to stay infantry doing infantry things but, I see 2 sides of the coin. I can risk staying armor and still go to ranger school while also having the ability to go MG and using that identifier but on the other side I can stay infantry lead a rifle squad and eventually a rifle platoon. What would y'all do in my shoes?

Airborne.
Don't look at the perks, look at the culture. Which one do you enjoy working with more? I wasn't a fan of being in a mech unit, but I loved being Airborne and being in the Airborne community.

Yea, I haven't been airborne before but have been armor both mounted and dismounted for the past 2 years almost and do not like it one bit. So I should just give it a try I'm thinking.

SSG (Join to see) BLUF: being in the 173rd was the best time in my career so far. Like SFC (Join to see) said, the airborne culture is amazing. It will really set you up for future endeavors.
