Should President Trump provide credibility back to UCMJ by charging to start with: Admiral Green, Adm Gilday, Secretary Spencer?

Actually, looking back at my time in the Marines, I should have been jailed as a PFC. My only salvation was the failure of those above me. Later, I still did as I believed but I understood what I was doing then. I was still bucking orders. I am stubborn when I believe I am right. I believe today we have too many yes men in government or greedy men.

Sgt Ivan Boatwright, thank you for your honesty! That shows great integrity, and maturity on your part. I am by no means a saint. I made decisions that would have had me in Captains Mass or worst, but I got the job done, and no one got hurt. Sometimes we have to break a few windows to get the house built. BZ

CPO Kim Hanthorn - Yes, I broke the glass and for what I believed to be the best of reasons. I will not claim all my actions saved lives but in a way small or large most did. If I did not have to see the body parts floating in front of my face daily, especially now with America in turmoil, I could accept most of what I did as a necessary evil. In the world today the line between good and evil is so blurred, it is almost meaningless.

Our President did not dodge the draft." In 1968, during the Vietnam War, he secured a diagnosis of bone spurs, which qualified him for a medical exemption from the military draft he had earlier received four draft deferments for education." Taken from his BIO from Wikipedia. The presidents from Clinton to Trump did not serve in the Military with the exception was George W Bush JR. who served in the National Guard and did not go to Vietnam. All the real draft dodgers with a few exceptions are at present time elected to the house of Representatives or are in the Senate.

I have no clue who the draft dodger is you are referring to' But I do not believe it is Trump. Now as to all of you backseat quarterback's, Unless you were there I will just say that you should not be making judgement calls on the people who were there. This situation was a SNAFU and a miscarriage of justice. Look at the facts, most all the seals who gave statements recanted their stories on the witness stand. The NAVY needed a scape goat Just like the ARMY needed them for ABU-Garieb. Yes the Commander of the prison at that time was either asleep at the wheel or let his soldiers down either way a SSG. thru PFC would not have done the things they were CM. for without orders whether implied or verbally issued. The atrocity of war are hell. To my knowledge all the SOCOM tier one and two operators are under one unified command, And they at the time got their marching orders from the CIA either directly or indirect. If we want to put blame on the Operators then lets start at the top, with the CIC who was in office at the beginning of both of these unintended consequences.

No, President Trump did a disservice to the service in this case. He circumvented the outcome of UCMJ proceedings. The Navy can reassign any enlisted person to whatever job they want to give them, or did you miss that detail in basic training? Saying Gallagher is no longer a SEAL, is just taking away an identifier - His job has changed the Navy no longer considers him qualified to be a SEAL. End of story.

Yeah senior enlisted still struggling with understanding the simplicity of who is at the top of the chain of command, and that his orders are lawful.

SPC John Canning , I don't struggle with chain of command. A good, he'll even a mediocre commander would be able to figure out that a service member who was convicted of crimes by his branch of service, had members of his unit testify against him, should let it be. Again, if the Navy deems a service member is no longer qualified, they have the right to reassign.

Lol, well at the end of the day you continue to prove my point. You do notvhave enough rank to over rule or speak out against his decision.

Trump undermines the UCMJ and the justice process that enforces it by this action. He has no understanding of why Green ‘s actions are so detrimental to discipline and the chain of command. This is a Navy issue and the Navy should handle it.

Part of good leadership is knowing when to assert your prerogative, and when used unwisely this is the kind of legal rat fuck that follows.
