Should RallyPoint add an awards section to the profile for both military & civilian members?

Should RallyPoint Web designer consider adding a Section in the Profile for Military Awards for both military personnel and civilian personnel?
Do you think RP members will be honest for the most part and only add those they actually received?
(or)
Do you think some RP members will add awards they didn't actually receive?
(or)
Do you think there is no need for another "love me" section on the profile?

I think that members could optionally provide a DD214 to Rally Point and the rack could be generated.

Go ahead if you want, I think many on here would just leave it blank - I know I would.
As far as credibility of posts, we already have a "Deployment" section and a "Military Experiences" to show where we've been and what we've done.

LTC Stephen B. It was just a question to see what type of feedback would be received. There is positive and there is negative, but it did generate a lot of responses. Personally I don't think it will happen here on RP. Again, it was just a question to get opinions and it did do that - thanks Stephen for your feedback.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - That's exactly how I took it. As others have said, it won't bother me if RP had one, but since I'm retired I wouldn't take the time to populate it. I used to keep mine up to date on 'TogetherWeServed' web site but that was mostly to have as a picture reference when putting my rack together for DA Photos or medals on my mess dress. (I never bought the pre-made racks). Don't need that anymore. YMMV.

I really could care either way. I can foresee a lot of issues with people eyeballing and questioning peoples awards.

That is probably a fair assessment. Definitely why it shouldn't show up when you answer a question or if you are on the "trending" bar.

Sometimes the chest-candy can spark some interesting conversations about how a particular award was earned. For those that want to, I don't have a problem with it and I probably would just because.

I say go for it. People work hard and sometimes do amazing things to earn their awards, then in most cases, they are only recognized for them a few times a year when they wear their dress uniform. It's a good opportunity for deserving Soldiers to be further recognized.
As far stolen valor or embellished valor is concerned. Dishonest people will find a way to be dishonest, if they will embellish their ribbon rack, they have probably already embellished other parts of their profile. The more forward they are with their dishonestly, the more likely they are to get caught.
