Aside from line units or motor pools (or any other physical-type duty), should the Army move to a more professional uniform for daily duties?

If we're truly trying to more to a more professional looking group, (hairstyles, tattoos, etc.) why not go to the Class B/Tropical uniform on a daily basis?

You could just make your camis look professional, we manage in the Corps... and maybe stop wearing them off post. Having regularly worked in the office at my desk, on flight line, aboard my aircraft for a flight, and outside doing shit, often within a single day, running around in service dress just isn't practical, camis or in a perfect world, my flight suit. I suppose there's situations where dress all day every day would be useful, Pentagon, regiment level HQs and higher maybe? I just don't see it being practical for the masses.

Have we (the combined services) done anything like this for daily duties recently? I seem to recall that utilities of some pattern or color have been pretty normal daily wear since at least Vietnam...

If your daily duties have you sitting behind a desk. There is no reason why those in BDE level positions and above should be wearing a "field" uniform.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but if the member is in an office environment, they should be presenting a more professional image.

Is there even a Tropical uniform any more? I still have my Helmet, Sun, Rigid that I wore with Khakis in Tropical Climates. Never got the whites. The Class B pictured with blue trousers/skirts and wool berets could hardly be a Tropical Uniform.

If you're in a low impact job, for example: Some 25 series, 27 series, 42 series, Finance, Chaplain/Chaplain's Assistant, and other things where your job keeps you indoors and/or at a desk most of the day, it makes sense. Most other MOS series. No. It doesn't make sense nor is it practical. When are Cav Scouts, Tankers or Grunts going to be doing something where that would be practical? Or your 15 series? 12 or 21 series?

Might be hard to maintain but you could spot a true sh*tbag from a mile away.

I personally follow the train of thought that your job should determine your uniform. If you're in an office why not wear your class B's? Maybe they could develop a set of C's that could be easier to care for and made for everyday use. Anyway, I think that we should wear our B's at least once a week if you are in an office environment, pretty much every other service does. I like the professional look, I think that it makes us seem more professional and will allow us to give off the impression of going from a wartime army to a garrison army.

Excluding line companies and motor pools, yes. I'm much in favor of a more professional look

I do not like this uniform and would greatly tax my sick leave to avoid wearing it. In fairness, it is possible that there are worse looking dress uniforms somewhere. I just haven't chanced upon them yet.

I've thought this was the right thing to do for years, particularly for higher level staff elements like 1SG Whitman mentioned earlier. If you're in a line unit monkeying around in the motor pool or out in the back 40 for training every day, obviously the service dress wouldn't be the way to go except on certain occasions, maybe for battalion/brigade staff duty during the day.
