Mexican flag
http://www.wfaa.com/story/local/2014/11/01/13811384/

You just can't make this stuff up. After watching the story, what is your reaction? Again like the former Marine who gets banned from his daughter's High School, we seem to be seeing a very aggressive attitude against American Exceptionalism and this is supported by President Obama.

What are your feelings about this and what would be your response?

Mexico and its' supporters can SUCK IT!! If you want to be here...learn English!! If not...go the fuck home!

I learned to speak German when I lived in Germany. I thought it was insulting to assume all Germans knew English and found I got much more respect from the locals.

Did Texas leave the United States of America? If not then of course not. I believe in patriotism, If the students and teachers are only patriotic to mexico, then there is nothing stopping them from giving up their citizenship and going over the border to Mexico.

Otherwise, everyone needs to be patriotic to the country that they live in and enjoy the freedoms in. Some of these people are crazy, now a days.

NO, Texas students should not be forced to say the Mexican Pledge of Allegiance. Any teacher that tries to force them to say it should be fired. This is the United States of America and only our pledge should be recited. Anyone that has a problem with this, I hear there is plenty of room in Mexico now that they're all up here!

HELL TO THE NO! Last time I checked, Texas is part of the United States, not part of Mexico! At least not any more! If they want to pledge to the Mexican allegiance, they can just go back!

If you read the story.. it does sound like it was a teacher attempting to engage students in learning Spanish.... nothing more.. no covert brain washing.. Misguided perhaps... but certainly nothing malevolent>

Parents wring hands and gnashing of teeth when teachers just hand out paperwork, home work, not "TEACHING" .. not engaging students, not encouraging .. Here we have a teacher that came up with an engaging way to teach the lesson.. the lesson of learning to speak Spanish.. and learn about the culture ... and we have wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth.

As I see it, you mean to tell me that there is not one other thing that they could recite than that? All hell would break loose if you mentioned Jesus or Did the Lord's Prayer...lol

That would be my point of misguided on the choice of what,, not the why.
Yes, a song, poem, book passage ..perhaps even the US pledge of allegiance translated to Spanish. But still my opinion is, this was an attempt to engage students, make them want to learn... or at least not fight it. to that I applaud, the choice of what.. not so much.

If our teachers are not allowed to have The Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag said in a class room enviroment at the begening of class like when I grew up, they should not be forced to say The Pledge of Allegiance to a foreign country even if it is a method of teaching. What they should be teaching in this country is how to speak proper english.

I agree, since the school district is back pedaling, and saying it is just a cultural experience, then the background and political history of the teacher needs to be questioned.

That excuse would only be believed by her unwitting students. At least most of them.

The Pledge of Allegiance to America should be recited daily. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If the people of that school want to say the mexican pledge we can call the cartel to come pick them up.

Hell nowe whooped thier ass in Texas for independence, it is about time that parents converge on the school boards, Pta Meetings, the Governors office n mass protest. Kick them out of office if they do not comply with. United States customs. Mexicans don't even speak English let alone obey the laws of this country. There is not going to be a total invasion. Of our standards !!!!!
