Many soldiers come home after Basic Training with the hopes that they can pursue an education. But they find out that the Reserve GI Bill gives you $350 a month for books and it doesn't cover tuition at all. How can you pay for your education with that?

I will say that it should probably be raised some. I think almost 15 years ago when I came in it was $350 and college education prices have gone up dramatically. It also says so explicitly in your contract. I also had a kicker which was nice. Between TA and 1606 GI Bill attending a state school or community college shouldn't be an issue in most area. A lot of states have additional assistance for military and ex-military. Also make sure your are using your FASFA to get Pell Grants. In the age of the internet, things like these shouldn't be much of a surprise.
