Sure there is wisdom with age but there is also the tendency to hang on to old ideas. Would we see more progress in forcing older politicians from public service?

I'd prefer term limits, campaign finance reform, greater restrictions on the use of political spending, and more strict laws on ethics and conflicts of interest to simply implementing an age limit (which is a form of discrimination). If those issues are fixed, people won't have the incentive to hang around for 30-40-50 years. Take away a politician's ability to get rich off their position, and the problem will solve itself.

We Will Never See Any Of The Reform’s Or Any Term Limit’s You Mentioned.
Congress Makes The Laws And Sets Term Limit’s, They Also Set The Ethics Standards And Spending Guidelines.
They Benefit Too Much From Their Own Greed And Corruption !

Yes while I understand the ADEA protects individuals from age discrimination there are exceptions in certain industries and occupations that are regulated by law. Seems politicians could qualify considering the handful of state that have set age limits on Judges. Also many political offices have an age restriction on the front end so why not the backend as well.

As well most of the reforms you have mentioned would have to come from the same politicians profiting off their political office.

I'd be happy with the US and each state passing laws that specify "No more than 12 total years as an elected official". The politicians can determine where/how they want to distribute those years.

SPC David S. Term limits - definitely. If we can put a term limit on the highest office in the land, why not politicians in Congress? We need new blood and ideas every so often.
