Jimmy Carter created the DOE and it was conceived in dark and pessimistic beliefs and forecasts that have proven totally wrong. As Obama might say, the DOE is on the wrong side of history. As it stands the department needs to either be rethought or retired. Comments Please.

The Dept of Energy was formed to get us off of our dependence on foreign oil. They have been a complete failure.

SSG (Join to see) Yeah the TSA is a disaster, let me share my favorite TSA sucks story I am a retired Air Marhsal, and I have seen more of the TSA than most people ever will. My partner was flying one day with his grade school aged son. His son had just had brain surgery, and was wearing metal braces on his legs. Knowing full well who my partner was, they pulled his son in for secondary screening. Seriously, they know my partner had a gun, and a bag they are not allowed to look in, WTF did they think the sick little kid with head scar and the medial leg braces could be hiding?

The TSA could be fixed by local law enforcement. Every airport falls inn some PD jurisdiction. The Air Marshal program is the last safety catch, designed to go into action after everyone else has already failed. Local cops could make that a lot less necessary.

As a minimum, don't let them do any construction projects. They are worse than the VA! Speaking from personal experience; cleaning up after them.
