We hear about how all these Vets are triple dipping, but I don't think people are educated on how hard it actually is to do this, and how very small of a percentage of people can qualify to do this.
You have to meet all of these requirements: Serve over 20 years, receive a 50% or more VA Rating, be deemed unemployable or 100% disabled by the VA, AND qualify for SSI benefits.

If you are against this, I'm sorry you worked in an office for 20 years and can't get a rating for your paper cut! Those that I know that are 100% are hurting and truly deserve every penny they get!

I am a double dipper. I fully retired and received a VA rating of 80%. Mostly due to an electrocution in the sandbox in 2008. I completely loss feeling in my right arm. As an electronics tech is pretty difficult to use small tools that you cannot feel. I have had to completely change my skillset off of what I had honed for 20 years.

This isn't triple dipping. Each are separate. A VA rating has no bearing on time in service or Social Security benifit decision nor does a Social Security decision hold weight on a VA decision. You can legally have all three or any variation of the three.
