Will we ever again need to look at a wider range in age for recruitment?
During WWII and other necessary periods, the recruitment age had a wide range to obtain skills necessary to fight the war or serve specific purposes.
Older civilians that were experts, business leaders or highly educated were given direct commissions. It benefitted the services by bringing in the needed experience and leadership.

To answer the question posed in title, no. To answer the question in your posting, it's too early to tell. Each situation is different than the last. With the state of warfare as it is currently, I don't believe we would need to bring in those older civilian experts. They make too much money as contractors anyway to come back in.
