There are some amazing minds here, and people from all walks of life. It's hard to get an efficient and honest pipeline from AAR's and the chain of command telephone game. Plus the men and women that served and got out could directly communicate from a vet/civ status to us in open forum.

Would it be practical and beneficial to be able to bring each other together for a formal convention and discuss the biggest issues? It might also foster an environment where good thoughts and ideas can flow more freely outside of a rank/command structure.

I like to think that is what happens every day on this site.
For the record, there are a lot of members that I would love to meet in person and share a pint.

Thanks top. I think there's a visceral difference between hoping on a keyboard and meeting up. The people on here seem dedicated to making our armed services and our country a better place on another level. We're poised to make changes and perhaps senators and congressmen will attend.

We held one in 2014 called RPx, and a smaller get together in 2015. http://rpx.rallypoint.com/

Great major, so there's a template. I see many distinguished gentleman on there. Perhaps on the next one it will include some lower level yet invaluable voices. It can help to make sure the viewpoint also is gained from the bottom of the fish bowl as well as from the top. Stellar work and so glad to know this gathering is possible.

Outstanding thought. Would have to be in a central place such as Dallas, St. Louis, or Chicago. Could include bicoastal conferences every 6 months. Would need to vet presentation topics and speakers. Would be willing to be on a steering committee for this.
