I would say as of late there is a lot of random questions out there. Some are from way out there in left field. Do you think some of these fit into the current categories of Military Discussions Employment & Transition Post-Military Life General Interest? Should there be some another category made? Some of these are not really general interest at all. I would say some are really more of a special interest.

*On a lighter note I have modified the regular question screen. See if you can find all of the changes? Just so you know there are six of them.

A separate Religious Issues category would be nice. All religious issues must be contained there.

Don't say that too loud. They will think you are persecuting them.

Politics. It should have its own. I get really worked up about them and they seem to be common here anymore. If I want to discuss them I go to political sites. I do my darnedest to avoid them.

Can there be a rule on politics threads that you leave rank and decorum at the door? For instance, if someone 4 ranks above you accuses you of eating babies because you belong to a different political party, can you tell them to fuck themselves with a rusty nail?

I'd be down with something like that.

To a point LT it would have to be "fuck yourself with a rusty nail, Sir".

I don't think there needs to be more categories, however, I think there should be an opt out option. In most forum style sites the "general interest" is the catch all for anything that doesn't fit somewhere else in the site. If you felt the need to add sub categories, that would be the category to do it to (such as lifestyles, religion, politics and so on). Giving people the option to opt out of certain categories or sub categories would help reduce unwanted material in their feed. Or people can get over it, ignore the posts they don't care for and post what they think is relevant (it is an open forum system after all). Just my two cents.

There is an option for this. I can't find it anymore. I may not be looking in the right place. But I like the sub-categories idea.

SSG JP, this is exactly what I was posting about this morning. I would certainly appreciate a category where you can dump all non military related topics.

Isn't non-military already about 85% of the topics?
