"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Who the hell are the 1%ers? When I was in the Army no one gave a shit about what E1's and E2's felt or thought.

This is a ridiculous idea if I ever heard one. Combat badges are earned and have meaning. This is almost as bad as these folks in the current election wanting free college education given to them instead of having to earn it. I say no and HELL NO!

They earned it. The e-1 and e-2 will get theirs soon enough.

When I got to my first unit I saw everyone who deployed with a patch on their arm and I couldn't wait to earn mine. There was only one time I had a combat patch on my arm in which it felt wrong. I did a change of command ceremony for our BDE as well as Btn. They had all of us wearing them and after the ceremony I felt uneasy about the patch being ony arm because I didn't earn it. We got back to our unit and I took it off and I felt a lot better. Now I earned two of them and I feel a sense of honor when I was in uniform. I wouldn't hesitate to having them ony arm. Because I know I earned it. Now to the enlisted who haven't been deployed yet. Don't get all down because you don't have one, your time will come.

The only way you are removing my combat patch from my uniform is to chop off my right arm.

No we should not. Those patches are earned and should be proudly worn. What's up with the whiners? When did this happen?

Too bad they don't make patches for feelings.
