"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

I think that rangers should stop wearing the tab, and SF it makes people feel left out. Also upon completion of BCT every soldier should get a bronze star so when in dress uniform they won't feel left out. Further nobody is allowed to wear rank insignia so that nobody feels less important than the next. We have to be sensitive to this participation trophy generation.

Maybe we should remove unit patches too! I feel left out of other units.

As a Marine I have always thought there was too much stuff stuck to the Army's uniform but taking the patch away ranks up there with giving trophies out to all the kids that played instead of just rewarding the victors. If you want the combat patch then earn it.

This is crazy. What next, take away medals and ribbons as well. What a sensitive ass army we've become. Where we bowl to the squabbling of privates. This is just a reflection of how the POTUS has weakened our military over the past eight years. This retired 1SG says screw them, just like in my day they will get their chance.

There's no reason to be weird about this. It was the 101st "Rakassans" (spelling may be off)

I was in the Army in 77 to 80. To have asked a Vietnam Veteran to take off his combat patch because I didn't have one, would have been unthinkable. That is THE STUPIDEST idea, I have ever heard.

WTH??!!! Are you serious? That's about as bad as giving IET/AIT students unit patches so they don't feel like they're the odd ones out. Last time I checked, I earned my combat patches!
