"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

If one of my kids were in this unit and one of the whiners, I would have a serious discussion with them. The Army used to be warriors, not whiners.

Why is this a question! You earn it, you wear it. You don't, then earn it!

Whatever happened to the sense of pride for Soldiers who have fought and died for our country? That is part of the history of wearing a "Combat Patch". I am sure that these newbies will get their opportunity to earn a patch.

You got to be kidding me?!? Remove earned patches because newbies don't feel included?!? Any leadership that advocates such foolishness needs some good old fashion Wall to Wall Counseling!

Does that mean you shouldn't wear rank so people don't feel left out? Or skill badges and tabs? Better yet don't let anyone wear their metals on their dress uniforms because it hurts people's feelings they haven't earned anything yet.

How about giving everyone who hasn't deployed a chance to deploy.? I was in for 20 years, and though I volunteered for every mission, I still never got deployed. I dont think the system realizes that it is an honor and a privilege to deploy with your people. I always wish that I'd have gone 'across the pond' and I detest when people tell me that it wasn't meant to be or that the plan for me was something else.

is this another duffle blog post? Cuz if it is NOT this is too ridiculous (sp), I mean SERIOUSLY? Just because he/she/they didn't deploy doesn't mean THE ENTIRE UNIT THAT DID should/must take off their combat patches, I mean COME ON....*smh*
