Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

The combat patch represents values that fall under "leadership" not only does it represent that it also is the legacy of American military history. It is not just given it is earned. It is respected and treated as such. So the question is why remove something that is earned? To satisfy a Soldier that will in time earn theirs?

If anyone asks why I chose to retire, this is a major part of the answer. The armed forces are not supposed to be touchy feely sensitive softies, we're not supposed to even be politically correct. This is upper echelon BS, designed to grab a headline and spotlight the insignificant moron who came up with this asinine idea.

The only reason the combat patch should really be removed would be if you need to sterilize your uniform for a mission or you just feel like taking it off personally. I shouldn't have to take off my patch because some new guy feels left out.

There are so many Soldiers who come in and go to a Training Division to train or OC for moving units and don't have a clue. It is an achievement and award of sacrifice. How many avoid deployments because they are afraid butbwant the uniform. Keep the combat patch.

If you are training as a unit, then keep the patches. It's not an in-your-face thing, nor is it a reason for new soldiers to feel inadequate. It is something to aspire to. However, for MOS and NCOES courses and other leadership development type schools, then patches/badges should be left at home. I personally got tired of going to these courses, and instructors automaticallypicking me out of the class and putting me in charge, because of my experience. How is that supposed to help develop others?

I was in one of those patch less units. Frankly if it took a patch to let someone know I was a Blue Spader and a hell of a commo guy, I never earned the right to wear one in the first place.

Sure while we're at it let me take off both my tabs and all my badges I earned so the mouth breathers that never doesn't have one can feel better about being a mouth breather

No because my son in law has been in the shit 3 different tours 3 different years as a Combat Medic assigned to 101st, Rakasan, and 10 Mountain. Been there done that, kicking in doors and patching up wounded and evacuating the wounded. While others, mainly those unfit or unwilling to deploy sit home and make rank in the medical care cush world. Combat badges given for troops with combat duty should give precedent over those who have taken the easy road.
