"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

So they don't want the guys who earned something to wear it because they don't want hurt feelings? What a frigging crock of crap.
So with this thinking we should not wear our warfare pins because those who have not earned it may be offended?

If they stay in the military long enough they will get the chance to earn one. I didn't bitch and cry when I was a private with no combat patch while my NCO's had theirs. I knew eventually my day would come to earn one and it did.

Just a Wing Wipers opinion, but those that haven't been in combat have no reason to feel left out. Combat vets earned the right to wear a symbol of their service! It seems to me that it would be something to strive for, not whine that he has one and I don't.
