Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

I actually earn 4 patches in 3 tours. If they want one, they can go and do what I did. Invade Iraq and then close it like I did.

No. That's a stab in the back to those who have earned them. The whole sensitive issue within our military is weakening us to the core. If a Soldier is so offended of feeling inadequate because they themselves do not have one then how shall they ever be capable of enduring the trials and inhumanity of combat? Have some intestinal fortitude!

Should I also need to remove all my deployment ribbon, national defense and overseas during Dress uniform inspection. This is straight crazy.

Hey its earned patch so if the private co.es out and feels left out then he needs to join an army of that's all about emotion detachment. Besides when I was a private I was always looking up to the guy who has been in combat as someone I can learn from.

I don't know if this is true or not but aren't you supposed to earn the patches! SMH

Not just no but Hell no. I am a veteran of the Army (83-87) The only branch that I am aware of that wears a "Hot Patch" I never earned one but believe those who have should wear them with pride and without guilt. We worry too much about peoples feelings and in a world of "participation trophies" that make people think they are "special" we should celebrate and recognize those who have been in harms way.

Sounds weird to me, I don't know any Airmen that would feel left out, if anything they would look up to the guys with the patches.

Would you not wear your awards on your ribbon rack. Wear your combat patch with pride, it's a symbol of what you put on the line. The new troops will have there chance and will want to wear there's as well.

Let them earn their own or just get rid of medals awards and patches. Maybe Hooah too! It may not motivate someone and they'd be left out.
