"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

IMHO, Hell no. Those who have them have earned them. They went through hell to get them and should be proud to wear them. Those who have a problem with it should put up or shut up.

Those new recruits should understand that those patches were earned. They were not just given to a soldier, those soldiers risked their lives for those patches and deserve the recognition they have earned.

This must be a joke. I was active for four years and never received a combat patch, I never felt left out because I didn't earn it.

Why is this even an idea? It may be a support unit cause there’s no way a combat unit would even allow any comments such this, I’m actually out of words hearing about this.
