"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

If these same people who feel left out we're given the choice to receive no patch but keep their arms and legs, or give up and arm or leg and receive a patch, I bet that would change their tune. If only they knew what's really at stake when deploying to a combat zone...

I think this is ridiculous. Now I think we should all be professional about this issue and not ridicule those that don't have a patch. Simply set the standard by the way we carry ourselves, and simply educate those that don't have the patch. If you serve long enough, one might get one, but even if one does not get a patch, it should not identify the quality of the Soldier. Quality should be based on work and values.

Boo hoo no one should be so ever to rush in to combat. And just like with the E.I.B. its aworded to a soldier for deployment, so sorry your cherry ass feels left out but you need to earn it. Sence when dose the military care about herting ppls feelings really?

If you earned them let them wear them,if you don't have one then earn one for yourself. Don't be a cry baby about it and wear your feelings on your sleeve

You can see the "combat patch" in the eyes of anyone that's been in combat. It never goes away. I doubt the E1 E2 etc really think what you say but maybe some officers feel that way.
Patch, service ribbons, medals are earned the hard way so let them stay.

Waaa. Too bad. They also don’t have the campaign or expedition medals or CABs. I was in the Army 22 years before I had a combat patch. Suck it up buttercup

Exquese me those paches are erend and you should not be taking them off because someone hew hasn't been deployed yet dose not have one. Sooner or later unless something happens they more than likely will get one them selves. Until then they should have some respect for those that have been and made it back to wear that patch.

Hang around long enough and you'll earn your own combat patches. Until then...STOP YOUR SNIFFLING, SUCK IT UP AND SOLDIER ON.

Give the baby soldiers something to aspire to. Don't take away something someone earned to placate folks who barely know how to properly make a bed.
