Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Whaa cry me a freaking River, that's the problem with this generation "I don't have what you have and I am entitled to it even though I didn't EARN IT " if you want one earn it and you will appreciate it more

Combat patches are sign of recognition and honor. As are the deployment strips.

Combat sucks. If we've been there and done that we have earned the right to be proud of it.

I find it very hard to believe a MSG asked this question. Maybe take off your rank because someone else doesn’t have as many stripes?

My uniform is a history of my service, the good, the bad and the 21 years. How else do we tell our story to the public.

Not no but Hell No. We earned those combat patches through blood sweat and tears. If we have soldiers complaining because they dot have one, get out and join those pansy ass college kids.

Calm down Ed, different Army and era. Remember, now-a-days they get participation trophies for just showing up.

If the New Meat in the unit has a problem with the Vet's Wearing what they earned then they need to apply for early out through section 8 being a snowflake.

MSG Louis Alexander - That works as well these are our stolen valor people. I don't have to earn it just put it on and make a story up.

The same logic would dictate that NCOs and officers should remove their rank insignia because it reminds the junior enlisteds of their inferior states. In the military in general and the Army in particular there are a lot of things we get to wear to show who we are and what we have done. The combat patches inspire the young ones to want to get their own someday and bring honor to the soldiers who have earned them.

Silly discussion. Being combat arms myself without a combat patch I myself would never ask to take away what was earned by others. Since when does E1 and E2 have anything worth saying or hearing? You want one? Good for you, go get it and shut up till the mean time.
