"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

This idea is total bullshit. If the troops earned their patch they should be able to wear them regardless of how a bunch of E-1/E-2s feel about it. When is the dummying down/ sissifying of our military gonna stop? If you want to be a liberal snowflake , do us all a favor and don’t join the military.

We should remove combat patches to avoid hurting people’s feelings at the same time we remove rank to avoid hurting people’s feelings.

The discretion to wear it or not should be on the Soldier. I had a Truckmaster, E-8, who was a Vietnam Veteran with airborne and Ranger qualification. He didn't wear any of them. When I was preparing his NCOER I looked at his records, which also confirmed that he had a master's degree as well. So I asked him why he didn't wear his combat and qualification badges. He replied that the uniform regulations require only Name, US Army, and unit of assignment, and that is all he has to wear.

Why is this even a topic?
Is this now the Cub Scouts?
This is a great example of what is wrong with the leadership (I’m talking to you senior NCOs and Officers.)
Start leading and training your soldiers so when it’s time to deploy, they will come home alive so they can show off that piece of cloth.

Not everyone gets a trophy for showing up.
When it’s the privates time to go overseas and earn their patch.
Why is this even a question?

Patches are earned through participation in some kind of military event/deployment. I’m sick and tired of these whiny shits who been taught “every one is a winner and everyone gets a patch or trophy!!!”
Not real life and if DOD is going to coddle these people we are in DEEP kimshee

MSG - Time to tell the younger troops to look around and notice all of the experience and skill around them. That skill and experience is identified by the combat patches and badges. If they pay attention and learn one day, they may have some patches and badges as well. If they don't like it, time to suck it up butter cup and get with the program! You want a patch earn.. No PX Soldiers are allowed in the Services! Earn the recognition or get out!

Dear God - what next?? "be sensitive" to those that did not deploy - Jesus Christmas - this question is a fine example of what PC culture does to a mind.
