"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

This is such bullshit. When you're an E-1, or E-2 who gives a crap about whether you feel left out of wearing something you weren't there to earn. Soldier up, train hard and wait for another balloon to go up. Don't be a whiny millennial bitch crying because in the real world, your soccer mom can't ensure that everyone gets a trophy.

They are E1s and E2s. They need to earn it. If they lack character enough to understand they need to earn being deployed, then they need to be a stockbrokers or voted for wannabes. GTFU!!!!!!

BooHoo. Medals and ribbons are earned. I am not at all jealous of anyone who has a medal or 100 medals that I do not possess. They earned them, I did not. I earned mine, and that is ok with me. This is all an Obama era thing....

Maybe I should take off my oak leaf while I’m at it, so the little dears don’t get mind-locked trying to figure out how to respond?

Quit calling it a combat patch. It's a deployment patch.

I once went to a retirement party and they told us to remove our ribbons because the guy retiring didn’t have many and they didn’t want to hurt his feelings. Yep, that’s what our military has come to. I say suck it up, they’re on your chest because you put in the time and the duty.

It's not just the new privates, my psg has 18 years and got his first patch last week, while I'm on my 3rd trip in 12. It's a reminder to all personnel that you have had experience. It's something that is earned, but it seems more like a deployment patch than a combat patch.
