Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

We obviously live in a world where everybody feels they're entitled even though they haven't done anything.

If you want the patch go back in time, enlist sooner, so your whiny ass can earn the damn patch. Better yet, request a hardship separation you pansy asses!!!

No. Those like service medals are earned by participation in events and times. If you've been there, done that (some multiple times), you should be able to wear the appropriate medal/patch on your uniform and wear it with pride.

If you remove the combat patch from those that earned it to appease the ones that haven't, you might as well stop wearing rank that you've earned and they haven't, or any tabs, or awards and ribbons, because they don't have it so stop wearing what you've earned to be sensitive to those that don't have them.

Hey I feel left out without a Ranger Tab so those who earned it should take them off to make me feel better and everyone should take the medals off their chests because some of you have medals that I haven’t earned either. Now you young snowflakes if you want to join the combat patch club go to the Title 10 page on AKO and volunteer to deploy with a unit that is short people or wait for your unit to deploy

And having that patch doesn’t mean you engaged the enemy I was in a battalion headquarters and my duties did not take me “outside the wire”. Yes I was uncomfortably close to a couple of rocket impacts but I never had to pull a trigger yet I have a combat patch. My hat is off to those young kids that did go outside the wire and engage the enemy and I would never ask them to remove that patch

Every patch, Medal, ribbon is earned. If you’re sensitive, then go earn some.

No, they should not be removed. Cause you are afraid of hurting feelings. What is our military turning into ? A bunch of cry babies!!!! Grow up

So if you have a Medal of Honor and I don’t , you can’t wear it. Why was this even asked?

Who ever made that decision should not be allow their uniform because some civilians are out because we wear them. I am exetremely pissed about that decision and can’t believe they got away with it
