"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

NO--they were earned with loss of friends and blood.

Combat patches are earned and if you're new wait your turn. You shouldn't punish those who earned it for the sake of those who have not.

Screw that. If you want the patch, earn it. I earned mine, so did others. Besides, the patch let's others know who has experience.

No. I'm an E-2 I haven't deployed. I'll get me combat patch when I earn one. Til then, I just do what ever is required of me.

Saw it at Carson in 15 4ID 1st SBCT had soldiers remove all combat patches and skill badges, it was met with a lot of backlash and negative reactions dont think it stuck.

Combat patches shouldn’t be removed because some personnel like myself don’t have one and I’m ok that I don’t have one at the current moment. It’s the military, not some social gathering; act like you have some dignity in wearing the uniform of your country and not worry about a shoulder patch

Seriously? Just cause you have a combat patch on your right shoulder doesn’t mean you’ve actually been a combat. Just means you were part of a unit whose HQ was in a combat theater of operations so WHO CARES! Enough already. One reason some claimed they went to uniforms without branch insignias for officers was cause some claimed had they had a hard time taking non combat arms officers seriously. I call BS on that line of thinking by anyone.
