Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

What, do they want to give them one for just showing up like they do in the civilian world? Let’s not have anything that someone can see and envy and strive to achieve themselves...
For Gods sake...

This is my Combat Patch. There were a few of us that got the honor of wearing the 70th patch in this era. The last guys to get it were in WWII. I’d rather the honor of that than any “end of tour” hand out award.

I was in the air force and I find this ridiculous. My CO in Iraq wore is patches from his time in the Army, he was a green beret, as did a few others that earned them. Like someone said earn it, the ones with them should be role models for those without.
