Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

I have yet to have a combat deployment, that being said no soliders who have earned the patch should be able to wear it. Wanting guys to take something off that they have earned is like saying that you can only wear the ribbons you get at basic on your ASU's so people dont feel left out. They have earned that patch let them wear it

These are patches earned while in combat. Those who have them should be looked up upon.

Negative! A Combat patch is earned and worn. The new troops will just have to earn the right to wear one. It also serves as a constant reminder to those that have served in a combat theatre.

They earned the right to wear those patches. You can't say that an E1 or E2 will never see combat, you don't know what the next day brings. Your wrong to take away what those men and women earned so someone who had never been there or may never be there doesn't feel left out, their turn will come.

That is just not right. They earned those patches. These new troops need to put their big boy and girl pants on and stop crying, grow up.

Soldiers Are Furious After What Army Combat Teams Are Making Them Take Off Their Uniforms |...
More Combat Patches and Badges, Removed? What message is this sending? You've seen my other post about 3rd BCT 101st making the decision to remove combat patches in training. 3rd BCT is not the only command doing this. What are they thinking? http://www.ijreview.com/2016/03/551421-soldiers-furious-after-what-army-combat-teams-are-making-them-take-off-their-uniforms/?

Being a New PFC I always envied the combat patches in the late 80s. I made me strive to be a better soldier. Now with several I'm able to wear I made me proud to have reached the goal of being that soldier. It now makes me walk with more pride in knowing I've earned them.

This is the Rakkasans (sorry if my spelling sucks).
The army is way to politically correct, and leadership doesn't really care about soldiers, that's why most of them get out! (Check out the army retention rates)
