Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

I feel proud of having earned my patch alone with my unit. Doing what i signed to do. Earning your patch it’s a proud thing that every soldier has of doing their job.

To anyone whose feel goods are hurt or offended by a combat patch, may I suggest you get psychological help because you have deeper issues that need to be addressed.

No!!! This is the Army, no a liberal Pre-K, KG, or Yale University or such with “safe spaces”, puppies, kittens and coloring books for those who didn’t get deployed! Time to grow up, wake up, smell the coffee and acknowledge the facts of life! SMH! This is the weak thnking that makes us as a Military weak and into a (foul language withheld) joke in the eyes of the world! Need a trophy? Geesh!

We should probably issue out Ranger tabs to everyone as well. Why wear rank? Someone might be offended because someone else has been in longer and got promoted first.

I DON'T CARE WHO THEY ARE. RANK OR NO RANK, IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN, YOU DON'T NEED SPECIAL TREATMENT OVER THE ONES THAT HAVE. THEY EARNED THEIR RIGHT TO WEAR IT! SUCK IT UP UNTIL YOU EARN YOUR RIGHT. KINDER, GENTLER MILITARY, MY ASS,

First, who gives a shit about a PV1 or PV2 that haven’t “EARNED” their combat patch.
Second, on a more professional note, would it make sense for everyone to have the patch if they haven’t been in combat yet? Also, the patch has a deeper meaning behind it, and shouldn’t just be worn just because they don’t have it yet. It’s almost in the same realm of earning a Bronze Star, or Silver Star. You do not wear the accolade if you have not earned it. The same with campaign medals. If you have not earned it by being apart of the campaign then you do not wear it. Haven’t earned wings yet? Don’t wear them. Anything you’ve earned wear it proudly, and humbled. Remind the younger troops what it takes for them to earn their way there, and to never let up. Morale boosters like this will assist in the whinny ones.
In conclusion, there is a price to pay for each accoutrement and it’s not just the price to pay at the counter to wear them. Be proud, and be humble.

Is the military leadership giving up over 250 ears of tradition? This is as bad as in some of our schools where every kid gets a star or a sticker, whether they earned it or not. Someone needs to get with the unit leaders and give them the "Come to Jesus" talk i.e. "if they weren't there, they don't get the badge, but those who were there get the badge and wear it with pride. For those poor souls who haven't had the privilege of earning the badge, your turn will come.

Why does one need a patch on his/her shoulder or a ribbon on his/her chest to show other where he/she has served? Why is the Army the only branch that wears the silly things? If you know in your heart & mind and it's on your ERB/ORB do you really need a patch
