I am currently in the process of enlisting and will be selecting 35L (pending my ASVAB scores and an open slot). Since this MOS has recently been made entry level, does anyone know what the roles/duties will be as lower enlisted? I will be entering as an E3 (90 college credits) and plan on serving 4-5 years before attending law school.

LTC (Join to see) hit the nail pretty much on the head. If you go to a FORSCOM (tactical) unit, you’ll more than likely just be a another PFC to your unit. That means doing PFC things - like making sure things don’t grow legs and walk off or keeping people out of secure locations. It’s also a lot of “hey you” type details. That’s just the Army. If you end up in an INSCOM (strategic) unit, you’ll be supporting CI missions for larger commands and you’ll have a lot more responsibilities related to actual CI functions.
Additionally, there’s a significant backlog for school dates to get into this MOS. I’m not sure how the prioritization currently works but my advice to you is to be patient if you’re given a long wait time. In the end the job is worth it. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for detailed reply! If I need to wait, so be it!

I hate using such a cliche-but it really depends on the unit you are in.
The more strategic-and you are of age, the better chance you will have to use your B&Cs and conduct In estimations and CI Operations.
My opinion only-the more tactical and farther away from MI Units you go the more likely you will not utilize your skills and training as a jr enlisted. Many reasons for that, culture-Personality-trust...there are always exceptions but it’s just a part of the system we live in. Your duties would be supporting in some way-usually intel related, but at times like any Soldier you will have to just Guard some gates or man some radios. The more rank you make the better

Like everyone else said, it will depend greatly on the unit. You may be put on a SAP, or you may just wind up giving TARP briefs.
